About Endodontic Evidence
Endodontic Evidence is a learning space dedicated to making root canal treatment and related endodontic topics clearer and more transparent. It is designed for dental students, early-career clinicians, and curious patients who want to understand what current research actually says about common questions and clinical situations in endodontics.
Here you will find literature summaries, clinical case discussions, and explanations of key concepts in a way that is grounded in the scientific evidence while remaining practical and easy to follow.
Our Mission
The mission of Endodontic Evidence is simple: to bridge the gap between research and real-world decision-making in endodontics. Many excellent studies are published every year, but their findings can be difficult to interpret or apply at the chairside. This site aims to translate that evidence into clear, structured insights that support better understanding and better care.
Each article is built around a focused clinical or conceptual question, highlights the strength and limitations of the available evidence, and summarizes what that evidence may mean for diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient communication. When possible, you will also see how research findings align with everyday scenarios encountered in preclinical labs and clinics.
Endodontic Evidence does not aim to replace formal guidelines or comprehensive textbooks. Instead, it complements them by offering an accessible, up-to-date, and honest look at what we know, what we do not know yet, and where ongoing research is headed.
About the Author
Endodontic Evidence is created and maintained by a current dental student with a particular interest in endodontics and evidence-based dentistry. This project started as a way to organize personal study notes, critically appraise research papers, and connect what is taught in lectures with what is seen in the clinic.
Over time, it grew into a resource to share with peers, mentors, and anyone who wants to better understand the “why” behind root canal treatment decisions. The goal is not to present personal opinions as fact, but to carefully review the literature, acknowledge uncertainty, and present information in a balanced and transparent way.
Because this site is authored by a student, you may occasionally see evolving perspectives as new studies are published and clinical experience grows. Posts may be updated to reflect stronger evidence or clearer explanations over time, and sources are cited so you can explore them directly.
How to Use This Site
If you are a dental student, you might use Endodontic Evidence to supplement your coursework, clarify topics that feel confusing, or prepare for exams and clinical sessions. The literature reviews can help you see the bigger picture behind individual lectures or textbook chapters.
If you are a clinician, you may find value in concise summaries of current evidence related to specific techniques, materials, or clinical scenarios. These overviews are not treatment recommendations, but they can support your own critical thinking and guide further reading.
If you are a patient or simply curious about root canal treatment, you are welcome here too. While some content is written with a professional audience in mind, many posts aim to explain complex ideas in plain language so you can feel more informed and confident discussing your care with your own dentist or endodontist.
A Note Before You Explore
Endodontic Evidence is an educational resource and does not provide personalized diagnosis or treatment advice. Every patient and clinical situation is unique, and the information here should always be interpreted in the context of professional judgment, local guidelines, and individual circumstances.
With that in mind, you are warmly invited to explore the literature reviews, clinical case discussions, and topic overviews throughout the site. Whether you are here to deepen your understanding of a specific procedure, to follow emerging research, or simply to feel more informed, I hope you find the content clear, honest, and genuinely useful.
Thank you for visiting Endodontic Evidence and for your interest in thoughtful, evidence-based endodontic care.
